Well ... I finally got around to putting on a Sigma Sports digital speedometer/odometer. Many thanks to Brian Nash for his previous poston this topic. His instructions are right on the money! (Right down to the ceramic magnet from Radio Shack!)
Boy! A trip odometer is a wonderful thing! No more trying to remember when I'm going to run out of gas ... now I can be relatively SURE of when I'm going to run out of gas.
I installed a BC600 model, and used their "rear wheel kit" to gain the cable length needed to mount the sensor near the front brake rotor. Total cost was $34.00 from the local bicycle shop. The unit is weatherproof, shock resistant, and the instructions say it will read speeds up to 180mph. (Like I'll really need it ...)
I also fixed a buzz that had developed in my SuperTrapp. It seems that the entire inner core was vibrating against the outer shell. A flat head screwdriver wedged against the discs stopped the noise, so, my Suzy now has a custom applied high tensile spiral tensioner installed in the muffler. (Let's hear it for sheet-rock screws!)
Now ... If I could only find a throttle lock ...
